Network Marketing
Network Marketing (NM) is a business distribution model that allows a parent MLM company to market their products directly to consumers by means of relationship referral and direct selling.
Technically speaking there is no difference between this term and MLM other than the fact that NM is viewed as a more professional form of Multilevel Marketing.
Whereas the MLM definition focuses more on the distribution process Network Marketing is more about the networking and relationship building aspect of creating a viable business.
With the continued development of Web 2.0 and social networking it is now very common for people to hang out in social communities such as MySpace, Stumble Upon, Facebook and many others so there are great opportunities to network and sell your products to a number of interested people from all over the world.
The Internet is making it possible to develop relationships and build a worldwide business without ever leaving your front door and for this reason people that have never participated in network marketing are now joining companies by the thousands.
Anyone can quickly join a NM company and be in business for themselves in a matter of minutes by signing up on the Internet. Depending on the business that you join you can get started for as little as $100 or less.
Because of the success that this type of marketing is now achieving you are finding businesses in all industries starting their own NM divisions and this means that you will find products you might not have been able to gain access to previously.
Companies that offer instant access online make for a great networking business and this can involve anything from information products to online shopping malls to membership sites.
You should always remember that anything that can be delivered instantly and on an ongoing basis is a great way to make extra money and ultimately achieve your goal of financial freedom.
Because NM is so focused now online you will definately have to master some basic Internet marketing skills in order to be successful.
Although this does not mean that you can't still sit down with someone in person or make a telephone call (and there are plenty of scripts and templates available online for these methods), the most successful distributors spend their time driving traffic to a website and following up with it via the Internet.
This basically involves creating a landing page, putting a sign-up form on that page, having the name and e-mail address of your contact person go to an auto responder, and then letting the autoresponder follow up with a pre-programmed series of messages promoting your business.

The most successful network marketers today are people who play a numbers game. They spend their time and money developing visitors to their site and then letting the system takeover.
The networking portion of this still comes into play by using various marketing mechanisms such as blogging, autoresponders, article marketing, forum marketing, and social directories but, as with most online businesses, the more people you drive to your own personal website the more money you will make.
